Department of Rheumatology and Immunology in Tong-Ren Hospital

Tong-Ren Hospital affiliated to the Capital medical university was a comprehensive hospital with long history of 120-years and famous for his repute in ophthalmology and ENT. Department of Rheumatology and Immunology with 15 beds and 6 members was established in May,2006. with the strong cooperation and support from Department of Ophthalmology and ENT, a special service of problems of eye and ENT related to rheumatic diseases was established and soon developed，patients with diseases such as Behcet’s disease，Wegener’sgranulomatosis， Lupus, Churg-Strauss syndrome，Relapsing polychondritis, Ankylosing spondylitis，Reiter’s syndrome，Takayasu disease，Rheumatoid Arthritis，Sjogren Syndrome all over the country come to our department; The diagnosis was made earlier and the treatment was given in time, especially preventive procedure was provided and major such a patients get benefit from the new idea during long-time follow-up. And new technique and clinical research was carried out too. Introduction to department of respiratory medicine， Beijing Tongren Hospital，Capital University of Medicine The staff of department of respiratory medicine includes 16 doctors and 14 nurses。There are 3 botanic physicians and 6 associate chief physicians among the doctors。By now，the whole department was divided into 5 sub- departments，consisting of Ordinary ward，respiratory intensive care unit（RICU），out-patient department （including asthma clinic），pulmonary function department and bronchoscope department。The advantaged subjects include asthma and allergic disease，chronic obstructive pulmonary disease，pulmonary fibrosis，lung cancer， pulmonary infection，pleural disease and respiratory intensive care medicine。 Department of Endocrinology, Beijing Tongren Hospital Beijing Diabetes Consultation Center

This Department is one of the focus disciplines supported by Beijing Municipal Government, specialized in diagnosis and treatment for diabetes and its chronic complications, hyperthyroid exophthalmos, obesity and osteoporosis. Human resources, the number of beds, and other technical forces of this department are ranked the number one department of endocrinology in Beijing government hospitals. Beijing Diabetes Prevention and Treatment Office (under the supervision of Beijing Municipal Health Bureau) is located in this department, responsible for the prevention and treatment of diabetes in Beijing area.

Beijing Diabetes Consultation Center is a clinic of this department which offers “integration” services, including diagnosis and treatment of diabetic retinopathy, nephropathy, coronary heart disease, foot disease, kidney disease, etc.

The department of gastroenterology, Beijing Tongren hospital is a unit with complete teams, modern equipments and high level of medicine. Founded in 1993, there are 25 medical stuff including 13 physicians, 11 nurses and 2 tachnician in the department.

There are 38 ordinary beds in inpatient. The department is equipped with advanced gastrointestinal endoscopy room, applying the technology of routine or anodynia endoscopy for diagnosis and treatment, gastrointestinal function test room , applying intraesophageal manometry and 24 hours esophageal PH monitoring, and

blood purification room for artificial liver liver support treatment. With rich experience in diagnosis and treatment of complex pathogenetic conditions such as gastroesophugeal reflux disease, inflammatory bowel disease, pancreatitis, digestive tract bleeding of different reasons, liver cirrhosis and its all complications ,and other emergency and critical diseases of digestive system.

The department of gastroenterology has the authority for training postgraduate and awarding master degree and doctor degree. Introduction to the Department of Hematology The department of hematology, founded in 1993, has become a perfect department with complete medical teams, modern equipments and high levels of medicine, education and research. The department was awarded development priority by the Beijing Healthcare Bureau in 1998.

There are about 20 medical staffs in the department which consists of 31 ordinary beds and 3 standard air laminar flow beds. There are many modern types of equipment such cs-3000 blood cell separator in the department. In addition to dealing with common blood disorders and consulting difficult or refractory diseases, chemotherapy, intensive chemotherapy and immunotherapy for hematopoietic malignancies have became the main works and treatment of refractory lymphoma located in the head and neck and allo-/auto-hematopoietic stem cell transplantation have became the characteristics. The levels of healthcare have reached the national leader’s standard. The department became one of the first departments appointed by the Beijing Medical Insurance Administration for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in 2007. The department of hematology has the authority for training postgraduates and awarding master degree. Students from the Capital Medical University are taught in the department.
